JOB DESCRIPTION:

The AV Service Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual systems. The technician will provide support for a wide range of AV equipment, including displays, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and integrated control systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a customer service mindset, and a drive to deliver seamless AV experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, and maintain audio-visual equipment, including displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers.
  • Conduct site visits for diagnosis and repair of AV equipment issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on AV systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their AV needs and provide technical support.
  • Educate and train users on the proper operation of AV equipment.
  • Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for clients as needed.
  • Manage inventory of AV equipment and parts.
  • Document service interventions and maintain service records.
  • Stay current with emerging AV technologies and industry best practices.
  • Work with the technical team to develop and implement AV system designs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations when on site.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Sound Engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in AV troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of commercial AV systems and components.
  • Proficient in the use of AV testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret AV system diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Proficient with network infrastructures and basic troubleshooting related to connectivity.
  • Ability to load firmware
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and to travel to client sites when required.
  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification.
  • Crestron, Extron, Biamp Certifications
  • Extron and Crestron Programming

Working Conditions

  • This role requires frequent on-site visits, which may include working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet clients' operational needs.
  • Travel is required for this position
