JOB DESCRIPTION:
The AV Service Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual systems. The technician will provide support for a wide range of AV equipment, including displays, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and integrated control systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a customer service mindset, and a drive to deliver seamless AV experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, and maintain audio-visual equipment, including displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers.
- Conduct site visits for diagnosis and repair of AV equipment issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on AV systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their AV needs and provide technical support.
- Educate and train users on the proper operation of AV equipment.
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for clients as needed.
- Manage inventory of AV equipment and parts.
- Document service interventions and maintain service records.
- Stay current with emerging AV technologies and industry best practices.
- Work with the technical team to develop and implement AV system designs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations when on site.
Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Sound Engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in AV troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of commercial AV systems and components.
- Proficient in the use of AV testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret AV system diagrams and technical specifications.
- Proficient with network infrastructures and basic troubleshooting related to connectivity.
- Ability to load firmware
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours and to travel to client sites when required.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification.
- Crestron, Extron, Biamp Certifications
- Extron and Crestron Programming
Working Conditions
- This role requires frequent on-site visits, which may include working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet clients' operational needs.
- Travel is required for this position
