JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Security Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates for security system projects, including intrusion detection, surveillance, access control, and other related systems. This role requires knowledge of security systems, experience in estimation and project management, and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate Development:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for security system projects, including material, labor, and other related costs.
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, RFI’s, and creative practices to complete
- Proposal Preparation:
- Develop comprehensive proposal documents, including project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure proposals meet client requirements and expectations.
- Project Analysis and Planning:
- Analyze project risk factors and provide recommendations for cost-saving and efficient project execution.
- Participate in project planning and strategy meetings.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
- Cultivate relationships and meet regualry with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and product information.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and technological advancements in security systems.
- Client Consultation and Communication:
- Engage with clients to clarify project requirements and address queries regarding estimates.
- Provide technical expertise and advice to clients and internal teams.
- Active training to keep up to date with new products
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and project management.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and relevant documentation.
- Prepare and present estimation reports and analyses to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security system estimation or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of security systems and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
