JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Junior Estimator primary responsibility will be to learn from and assist Senior Estimators on low voltage construction project opportunities. Your main focus will be mirroring and absorbing CTCI’s estimating process to determine cost of material and labor to complete low voltage construction process. The overall goal of this position is to learn from senior Estimators through one on one and group estimating to eventually become responsible independent project estimates. This is an Entry-Level position.
Key Responsibilities
Estimate Development:
- Working with CTCI’s senior estimators to prepare detailed cost estimates for low voltage projects, including material, labor, and other related costs.
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, RFI’s, and creative practices to complete.
Proposal Preparation:
- Assist in developing comprehensive proposal documents, including project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Work closely with the engineering and sales team to ensure proposals meet client requirements and expectations.
Project Analysis and Planning:
- Learning to analyze risk factors and provide recommendations for cost-saving and efficient project execution.
- Participate in project planning and strategy meetings.
- Active training to keep up to date with new products.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
- Network and collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and product information.
- Learn and maintain up-to-date information of market trends and technological advancements in all systems.
Client Consultation and Communication:
- Learn to engage with clients to clarify project requirements and address queries regarding estimates.
- Develop relationships with end users.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and project management.
- Use CTCI’s team members to sharpen skills in the technology construction field.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Help to maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and relevant documentation.
- Prepare and present estimation reports and analyses to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with Engineering Background
- Construction industry experience is preferred but not required
